PNB ROCK’S BODY TO BE RELEASED TO HIS FAMILY: PNB Rock‘s body is set to be released to his family after the late rapper’s brother PNB Meen alluded to have difficulty getting access to the body for a funeral. Meen wrote via Instagram, “We been having trouble getting my brother back to Philadelphia. The state of Los Angeles claiming they have some type of law, going against our as Muslims. Now I have no clue when his Janazah. It’s not right, yo. It’s goin on a week. Prayers up. I got you bro an ya daughters.” Janazah is a Muslim funeral ritual that involves an individual being buried a certain number of hours following their death. According to TMZ, PNB Rock's mother is adamant about getting her son's body right away for this reason. She also allegedly objected to an autopsy, saying that it was against her religious beliefs; however, one was required to be conducted by law. The site reported that the rapper’s body has been ready to ship out since Friday (September 16th). PNB Rock was shot and killed at a Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles last Monday (September 12th). He was 30.
RUMOR: KANYE WEST DATING SUPERMODEL CANDICE SWANEPOOL: Rumor has it that Kanye West is dating 33-year-old supermodel Candice Swanepool. According to Entertainment Tonight, a source said the relationship is “new” and the two connected over “fashion and creativity.” The source added that Ye is “excited about Candice.” However, Page Six is reporting that the relationship is a “PR stunt” to promote the new Yeezy sunglasses. In other news, during an interview with Alo Mind Full Podcast, Kanye revealed that he has never read a book. He said, “I actually haven’t read any book. Reading is like eating brussels sprouts for me.”
LUDACRIS’ MANAGER CHAKA ZULU ARRESTED AND CHARGED WITH MURDER: Ludacris‘ manager Chaka Zulu, born Ahmed Obafemi, was arrested last week and charged with murder. According to HipHopDX, Zulu is also facing charges of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during commission of a felony, and simple battery. The arrest was as a result of a recent investigation of a shooting back in June, where Zulu fired his gun while being attacked, fatally shooting one of his attackers. The altercation started after Zulu engaged in a verbal argument with four individuals. They allegedly jumped him prior to shots being fired. Zulu, and two others sustained gun injuries, including 23-year-old Artez Benton, who died in the incident. Zulu’s attorney said in a statement, “Mr. Chaka Zulu, a beloved son of the City of Atlanta is disappointed in the Atlanta Police Department’s decision to bring charges against him surrounding the shooting that occured in June 2022. A close review of all the evidence….reveal that Mr. Zulu was attacked and jumped from behind by a gang of at least (4) individuals (sadly including the decedent) and was forced to defend himself.” The statement continued, “Mr. Zulu was shot in the back during the shooting and nearly lost his life, and is still recovering from the nearly fatal injuries he sustained that evening. Mr. Zulu was at his place of business that night and had every right to defend himself. In an attempt to save his life, Mr. Zulu lawfully discharged his weapon in self-defense; a weapon that he is licensed to carry….Mr. Zulu remains confident that his name will be cleared of all charges through the judicial process.”
ASAP ROCKY DENIES SHOOTING ASAP RELLI: ASAP Rocky has responded to ASAP Relli‘s civil lawsuit, in which he claims that he was shot by Rocky last November in Los Angeles. According to Complex, court docs show Rocky denying Relli’s claiming, saying, “Answering defendant generally denies each and every allegation of the complaint, and specifically denies that plaintiff has been damaged in any amount or in any way as a result of any act or omission of answering defendant.” In the filing, Rocky claims that Relli’s injuries and damages “were caused solely, directly and proximately by the negligent and/or intentional acts or omissions” of someone else. Additionally, it says that Relli “failed to exercise reasonable care to avoid the consequences of harm.” Meanwhile, in a statement to the site, Rocky’s attorney Joe Tacopina called the lawsuit “an extortion” attempt. He explained, “Rocky didn’t commit a crime. It was an extortion attempted by a former associate, who threatened to make false criminal accusations if Rocky didn’t pay him. What will become abundantly clear in the upcoming months, based on facts and evidence, is that Rocky is innocent of these charges.”
JT GET DRAGGED AFTER GOING LIVE WITH NICKI MINAJ: JT got dragged this past weekend after going live with Nicki Minaj. During the live, Nicki asked JT to recite a diss song she wrote towards Nicki a few years back. Nicki said, “… diss records about me when you were in the car. How that song go? 50 CENT SUES PLASTIC SURGEON; ENDS PARTNERSHIP WITH STARZ: On Friday (September 16th) 50 Cent sued plastic surgeon Angela Kogan and her business Perfection Plastic Surgery and MedSpa for posting an old photo of them together, leading people to believe that he went under the knife for penis enhancement surgery. 50 denies ever going under the knife and wants Kogan's team to stop sharing the photo. In the suit, he claims the pic is “exposing him to ridicule, damaging his professional and personal reputation and violating his right to control his name and image.” In other news, 50 has announced that his partnership with Starz has ended. He posted via Instagram, “This is my vibe right now! STARZ deal done, we had nothing but success so no hard feelings. i’m out. I’ll let you know where we are going shortly.”
TEE GRIZZLEY’S LOS ANGELES HOME BURGLARIZED: Tee Grizzley has revealed that his Los Angeles home was burglarized two weeks ago. Looters smashed a window to get into the home and stole over $1 million in jewelry and cash. According to TMZ, Grizzley spoke out about the incident, saying, “I appreciate everybody reaching out. I’m good, my family good, thank God. I need yall to do one thing for me, send a prayer up for PnB Rock and his kids. King Von, his kids, and all the kids out here have to grow up without their pops. I had to go through that. I grew up without my pops. He was killed, and it ain’t easy at all,” He continued: “We got to watch what we’re speaking into existence.
