68% of FinTok users…or people who consume finance-themed content on TikTok…say the social media platform has helped their money situation at home. Of the 2,000 participants surveyed, 38% experimented with “side hustling”, 25% participated in the “pay off debt” trend, and 25% tried making “passive income.” 53% plan to use FinTok more in 2025 than they did this past year. “Results found that respondents will be using FinTok to get out of debt (37%), start a business (19%) or even to file their taxes (16%),” Janelle Sallenave of Chime said. “What was once just chatrooms and a bunch of selfies has now become a wealth of knowledge for every type of person.” (swnsdigital)
