Austin Rogers is making waves in the music industry with his soulful voice and fascinating melodies. His latest single ‘Tip’ produced by Jazze Pha was released in September of 2024 and has gained nearly 400K views. The song is currently in heavy rotation on 100 stations around the country.
In our exclusive sit down Rogers shares how he transitioned from the runway and pursuing a career in law to exploring his passion for music.
The calling for rhythm and blues was not always something Rogers initially followed. Before hitting the stage as an artist, he modeled professionally and attended Howard University. There he studied to become an attorney in Legal Communications.
“Modeling kind of just came about …it was something that was just kind of easy. So it’s a way to like, you know, make some money, but music has always been my passion,” Rogers says.“Once I kind of grew up and just wanted to really figure out what I wanted to do.”
Rogers explains during this time he knew he had to pick a side, which was ultimately music.
In 2022, Rogers released an EP titled’ In My Head’ marking the beginning of his journey as a vocalist. Since then he’s continued to make an impact in the industry especially after the release of his single ‘TIP’ which he says he wanted to embody the vibrant nightlife of his hometown Atlanta, Ga.
“ So you already know how we get down”… “I just wanted to capture that, you know have R&B but still have it fun and still kind of reach the people and create some magic.” Rogers explains.
As the number of views online continues to climb daily, Rogers tells us he couldn’t be happier with how people are connecting to the song. He shared that the positive feedback he’s received is exactly what he hoped for—music that connects with people and gets stuck in their heads.
When asked how he would describe his sound, Rogers labeled it R&B Soul. He says the goal is to bring the soul back to R&B music,”
Looking ahead to the new year, fans have plenty be excited about when it comes to Austin Rogers as has been spending more time in the studio. He confirms more music is on the way as well as performances, even hinting at one possibly in the scenic city.
“We’ve recorded tons of songs,” he said, “and we’re just seeing how the feedback shapes the direction we take… and we’re just seeing how the feedback shapes the direction we take.”
