Spring break is right around the corner and the Tennessee Aquarium is ready to welcome families with a variety of interactive and educational activities. In a recent sit down with Alison Pryor, the organization’s media coordinator, shares exciting details about what visitors can expect during this time.
Families can look forward to hands-on experiences, such as stingray bay, where guests can touch stingrays, sharks, and horseshoe crabs. Additionally, curiosity carts will be stationed throughout the aquarium with ambassador animals like snakes, turtles, and even a skunk, giving visitors a chance to learn up close.
For those wanting a more in-depth experience, the aquarium offers behind-the-scenes tours. The deeper dives Tour allows visitors to explore before opening hours, while the feeding frenzy activity gives participants a unique opportunity to help feed sharks, stingrays, and Stewie the sea turtle at the secret reef exhibit.
Special attractions continue with scuba diver chats, where visitors can ask questions to divers wearing special masks that allow them to speak underwater. Mascots like the Gentoo penguin, lemur, and Clementine the tangerine darter fish will also make surprise appearances.
General admission tickets include access to most activities, with kids four and under entering for free. Additional experiences like the Feeding Frenzy Tour require advanced booking at TNaqua.org
