The Tennessee Aquarium is making a splash this summer with exciting new attractions, family-friendly experiences, and special events for all ages.
Visitors can cool off in the Aquarium Plaza’s fountains before heading inside to meet the aquarium’s newest stars, including a baby red-collared brown lemur and seven turtle hatchlings.

“We just announced that we have seven turtle hatchlings in our turtle nursery, so you can see some itty-bitty turtles there when you’re coming through,” said Alison Pryor.
Movie lovers also have something special to look forward to when The Odyssey premieres in the IMAX theater on July 16.
Pryor explained that the aquarium is “just one of 24 theaters across the entire country” equipped to show the film on a restored 70mm IMAX projector, allowing audiences to experience it “the way that the movie’s meant to be seen.”
Adults can enjoy the annual Fish & Sips event on July 18, featuring local breweries, food, and after-hours access to both aquarium buildings, while supporting the aquarium’s conservation and education efforts.
“Whenever you purchase that ticket, not only are you getting a fun night at the aquarium… you know that that ticket’s also supporting the aquarium’s mission,” Pryor said.
Guests can also enjoy daily diver chats, penguin keeper talks, butterfly releases, and the interactive Scutes & Scales-themed Scuttlebutt Reef gallery, making every visit a new adventure.
