This October, the Tennessee Aquarium invites visitors to dive into the quirky and fascinating world of Oddtober, a month-long celebration of nature’s weird and wonderful creatures. The event showcases animals often considered spooky, but essential to our ecosystems.
Highlights include the popular Underwater Pumpkin Carving, where scuba divers carve pumpkins in full costume while surrounded by fish. Visitors can interact with the divers and enjoy this unique Halloween spectacle every Saturday at 2 p.m.
Oddtober also features educational programs like Bones in the Bayou, where guests explore the skeletal remains of alligators and turtles, and Not So Creepy Creatures, which introduces misunderstood animals like hissing cockroaches. Additionally, visitors can admire eye-catching displays of glowing animal eyeballs throughout the aquarium and pick up limited-edition stickers at the gift shop.
For film lovers, the aquarium’s IMAX theater offers a variety of special screenings, including Tron: Ares, Back to the Future, and a special showing of Islands of Lemurs Madagascar narrated by Morgan Freeman.
With family-friendly activities, animal enrichment programs, and a spooky atmosphere, Oddtober is the perfect way to celebrate the Halloween season at the Tennessee Aquarium. For more details and tickets, visit TNAqua.org.
