Chattanooga is getting ready to paint the city brown as the Brown Girls Can Festival 2026 returns Sunday, October 4. The festival consists of a full week of events centered around empowerment, community, creativity, and sisterhood.
This year’s theme, ‘Painting the City Brown, Reclaiming Our Crown,’ brings together events independently hosted by Black women entrepreneurs and community leaders across the city.
The festival lineup offers something for just about everyone, including a charcuterie and wine-pairing experience, a divine feminine wellness session, the Brown Girls Can Hoop 3-on-3 basketball tournament, and more.
The festival will also feature a pop-up museum highlighting Black women, a marketplace featuring more than 30 Black women and girl entrepreneurs, a live podcast show, and Brunch After Dark, a formal gala honoring 12 Brown Girl Boss honorees.
The celebration wraps with National Black Girl Day Off, encouraging Black women to slow down, rest and simply just be.
Organizers say the larger goal is to create space for women to shine, heal, connect, and recognize that one woman’s success does not diminish another’s.
